That Last Rain
We didn't realize until when we came out of cinema, the rain was pouring very hard. We forgot to look on weather forecast, so we ended up not bringing umbrella today.
"How? Seems like we can't go home now," he said.
"Just go, yuk." I said to him. He looked at me unbelievably.
"No. Don't even think about it. You have your flight the day after tomorrow. You shouldn't be sick in that 13-hour flight."
"So what should we do? Watch another movie? Nooo, it's already late to come home. There wouldn't be another bus if we do so."
"Hmm, just wait a little longer. Maybe the rain will stop soon."
I shook my head. "Nooo... This kind of rain will last til midnight. Believe me,"
I started to take one step further, he immediately grasped my hand.
I turned to him and smiled happily, "It is okay. Let me enjoy the last rain in this city."
Then I run hard while laughed so hard as well. "Hey, this is fun! Come on! Do it for me please!" Ouch, I had to shout loudly as the rain was pouring so hard.
He shook his head, then smiled and run after me. We both laughed so hard beneath the hard rain that day.
That was a very beautiful memory to remember. We, slowly, walked to the bus stop, as if we enjoyed the rain very much. In fact, yes we did. We enjoyed the rain that day, very, very much. In the midst of people walked hastily to avoid rain, we walked very slowly instead while talking about the movie we had watched earlier.
"You shouldn't be doing this since your hometown is also called a rain city, right?"
"No, there will be different. I wouldn't enjoy rain as much as there wouldn't be someone that will accompany me walking thru the rain. Unlike here."
He smiled.
Thank you for accompanying walking through the last rain in this city.
